The Dallas Mavericks head to Milwaukee on Saturday to face off against the Bucks.
The Milwaukee Bucks are sitting right at the .500 mark so far this season, with a record of 2-2 on the year. The Bucks have been getting it done with defense this season, as Milwaukee is ranked 13th in the league, allowing 97.3 points per game on average this year. The Bucks offense is led by O.J. Mayo, who currently is scoring 16.3 points per game. As a team the Bucs offense is ranked 18th in the league, scoring just under 97 points per outing on the year. Last time out, the Bucs defeated the Cleveland Cavs in Milwaukee, 109-104 on Wednesday night. This has been a nice long break for Milwaukee, so the Bucs should be well rested when the Mavs come to town on Saturday.

The Dallas Mavericks, like the Bucks are right at the .500 mark on the year, although the Mavs have two more games under their belt, giving the Mavs a record of 3-3 on the season. Dallas is all offense so far this season as the Mavs are scoring an average of 109.7 points per game on the year, good enough for second in the league. Defensively Dallas is allowing 108 points per game on average, something I’m sure they would love to improve. The Mavs are coming off a loss to the Timberwolves in Minnesota on Friday, falling to the T-Wolves 116-108.
The Mavs are currently 3-3 against the spread on the season. As an underdog this year, the Mavs are 0-3 against the number, and on the road, the Mavs are also 0-3 against the spread. This season, in non-conference games, the Mavs are currently 1-0 against the number.
The Milwaukee Bucks are 3-1 against the spread this season, and at home, the Bucks are 1-1 ATS. Coming off a game where the Bucks have scored 105 or more, Milwaukee is 0-1 against the spread this season.
I have to roll with the Bucks in this spot. All things being equal, including a neutral court, I have the Mavs as about a four favorite over the Bucks. Giving the Bucks the home court advantage, and the fact that Milwaukee has had plenty of rest, while the Mavs have been busy lately, leads me to Milwaukee.
Dallas is the better team, but the Mavs are just in a tough spot here on Saturday as the Bucks should get the cover, and more than likely the outright win, as I’ll be on the money line for the Bucks as well.
