The Washington Wizards get set to face the Thunder on Sunday night.
The Oklahoma City Thunder are currently sitting at 4-1 this season, and it’s pretty safe to say that the Thunder are once again one of the best teams in the league. OKC is very balanced, ranking 11th offensively this season, scoring 102.2 points per game on average, while also playing well defensively, ranking 14th, allowing just 99.4 per game. The Thunder of course have one of the best playmakers in the game in Durant, and Durant isn’t disappointing this season, scoring an average of 29.5 points per game. In their last outing, the Thunder defeated the Pistons in Detroit 119-110 on Friday.

The Washington Wizards are sitting at 2-3 this season, and even though the season is still very young, there is cause for concern in Washington as the Wizards are once again in the basement of the Southeast standings. The Wizards are playing extremely well offensively this season, scoring an average of 105 points per game, but on the other end of the court, the Wizards are struggling, allowing 107 per outing, ranking Washington’s scoring defense 30th in the league currently. In their last outing, the Wizards defeated the Nets 112-108 in overtime on Friday.
The Washington Wizards are currently 3-2 against the spread this season, and as an underdog this year, the Wizards are sitting at 2-1 against the number. When playing on the road this year, the Wizards have also been a solid play, going 2-1 ATS. When playing against teams allowing 99+ points per game this year, the Wizards are 2-0 against the spread, and the Wizards are also 2-0 ATS when playing teams averaging 99+ points per game on the season.
The OKC Thunder are 2-3 against the spread, and as a favorite, the Thunder are 2-2 against the number. At home this season, OKC is 1-1 ATS. When coming off game scoring 105 points or more, the Thunder are 1-0 ATS.
We have seen some line movement in this one, and after that I now think that the Thunder have the value. At the original number of -11.5 for OKC I was on the Wizards, but now that the line has dropped to double digits, the Thunder are looking like the play. OKC plays very well at home, and while the Wizards are a decent enough team this season, especially offensively, I just don’t like the way they matchup with the Thunder.
