The Minnesota Timberwolves head to the Staples Center on Monday to face the Clippers.
The Los Angeles Clippers are sitting t 4-3 so far this season. The Clippers are one of the better teams in the league currently, but L.A. has played a brutal opening schedule, helping to account for a few of their losses. The Clippers have the number one scoring offense in the league currently, averaging better than 110 points per game on the year. The Clippers get it done offensively by effectively moving the ball around, which is evident by their high assist total. Defensively the Clippers are struggling a bit, allowing 106.3 per game, but I do expect the Clippers to get better in this aspect as the season goes on.

The Minnesota Timberwolves are an impressive 5-2 to open the season. The T-Wolves also have a very strong offensive unit, scoring more than 106 points per game, ranking the Timberwolves third in the league. The Defense for Minnesota is also solid, holding opponents to an average of 99 points per game. In their last outing, the Timberwolves defeated the Lakers 113-90 on Sunday at the Staples Center. Kevin Love is on a tear for the Timberwolves this season, averaging 26.9 points per game this season.
The Timberwolves are an impressive 5-2 against the spread this season, and as an underdog, the Timberwolves are 2-0 against the spread. When playing on the road this season, the Timberwolves have also done well, going 3-0 against the number. Following games where the T-Wolves have scored 105+, the Timberwolves are 3-0 against the spread.
The Clippers are 5-2 against the spread as well this season, and as a favorite, the Clippers are 3-2 against the number. At the Staples Center, the Clippers are 2-0 against the spread this season, and perhaps most impressive of all, when playing against a team with a winning record, Los Angeles is 5-0 against the spread.
I’m going to have to back the Timberwolves in this spot. I actually think this number is right about on, as I have the Clippers as a four point favorite on a neutral court. Both teams are playing really well, but I love the way Minnesota is playing to start the season. The Clippers are the better team, and that should show more as the season goes on, but for right now getting seven with Minnesota looks like solid play.
