The Memphis Grizzlies sqaure off agaisnt the Toronto Raptors on Wednesday night from FedExForum.
Head to head, the Raptors are 7-17-1 ATS in the last 25 meetings and 1-4 ATS in the last 5 meetings in Memphis while the home team is 8-3 ATS in the last 11 meetings. The Grizzlies are 1-5 ATS in their last 6 home games, 1-6 ATS in their last 7 vs. Eastern Conference and 1-8 ATS in their last 9 games overall. The Raptors on the other hand are 12-4-1 ATS in their last 17 vs. NBA Southwest, 5-2 ATS in their last 7 road games and 9-4 ATS in their last 13 games overall.
The Memphis Grizzles are the latest team to succumb to the undefeated Indiana Pacers, going down 95-79 on Monday night to fall to 3-4 on the season. The Grizzlies had a tough time getting anything going against the Pacers, who own the league's best defense as they were held to a season-low point total and were outrebounded 45-32, something that has been a problem to start the season as they are pulling in less than 40 rebounds per game, which ranks 26th in the league. Memphis did just record their biggest win of the season in their previous game against Golden State, winning 108-90 on their home floor, but it's been a slow start to the season under new coach David Joerger.
The Toronto Raptors came close, but they couldn't across the line in their showdown with the Houston Rockets on Monday night, failling in double-overtime 110-104 to drop to 3-5 overall. In a strange old contest, the Raptors faught their way back from 17 points down in the first half to force two extra sessions, but they couldn't get past a Houston squad that was coming into the game off consecutive losses. Rudy Gay Toronto with 29 points, but he was just 11-37 from the field while DeMar DeRozan added 22 points, on just 6-25 shooting.
How the hell did the Raptors nearly beat the Rockets on Monday with Gay and DeRozan combining to shoot 17-62 from the field? Well they did have a whopping 30 more shots than Houston, thanks to 20 offensive rebounds and by forcing 23 turnovers. There's no point to this paragraph, I wanted to let everyone know what Gay and DeRozen combined to shoot.
I want to take Memphis is this one, but I just can't pull the tigger considering their two best outside shooters in Jerryd Bayless and Quincy Pondexter are in doubt for tonight's game. Gay and DeRozan will probably combine to shoot something like 16-87 from the field and still find a way to cover. Instead, the under looks life the safest best on the board. Both teams rank in the bottom third in the NBA in points per game and have combined to score over 100 points in just four games out of 15, with two of those games going into overtime. I won't be tuning into this game nor betting on it...
