The Utah Jazz will be looking for their first win on Wednesday when the Jazz host the New Orleans Pelicans.
The Jazz have to win a game sometime, the question is when? The Jazz are 0-8 so far this season, with three of those eight losses coming on their home court. Utah is scoring below 90 points per game on the year, ranking the Jazz 30th in the league offensively. On the other end of the court, the Jazz aren’t doing much better, ranking 29th, allowing 100.6 per outing. Last time out, the Jazz fell at home to the Denver Nuggets 100-81 on Monday. This will be back to back home games for Utah, and the fact that the Jazz have had plenty of time on their home ground, perhaps will be what this team needs to get into the win column finally.

The New Orleans Pelicans are sitting at 3-5 this season, while going 1-3 on the road. The Pelicans are coming off back to back road losses. New Orleans fell to the Suns on Sunday, and then just last night, New Orleans fell victim to the Lakers in Los Angeles, 116-95. The Pelicans are playing well defensively this season, allowing just 97.4 points per game, but the offense for New Orleans has really struggled, as the Pelicans are ranked 21st, scoring an average of 95.9 per outing.
The Pelicans are currently 3-4 against the spread overall this season, while going 2-4 against the spread as a favorite. The Pelicans are struggling on the road this year however, going 1-3 overall and 1-2 against the spread. When playing against teams allowing 99+ points per game, the Pelicans are 2-0 against the spread.
The Utah Jazz are just 1-6 against the spread this season. The Jazz are also 1-6 against the spread as an underdog this year. The only cover for the Jazz on the year has come at home, giving Utah an ATS record at home of 1-2.
I’m going to lay the 2.5 with the Hornets here. New Orleans is the better team here, although I am a bit hesitant as the Pelicans are coming off a tough two game stretch, especially having played the Lakers in L.A. last night. This comes down to the fact that I just can’t trust this Jazz team, and until I see something a bit more positive from them, the Jazz are almost an automatic fade. Even at home as a dog.
