The Denver Nuggets will be going for a fourth straight win when they visit the Houston Rockets tonight.
The Nuggets didn't look too good when they started the season 0-3, but they seem to be on a roll now after taking down the impressive Timberwolves last night by 117-113. Kenneth Faried and JJ Hickson controlled the boards with double doubles each, while Ty Lawson ran the show with 14 points and 10 assists. In a game completely devoid of help-defense, the difference was in the scoring off the bench and that's where the Nuggets were stronger. Wilson Chandler led all bench players with 19 points, while the Nuggets had three more players finish in double figures, compared to the Wolves who only had JJ Barea scoring. The win elevates the Nuggets to 4-4 on the season and 3-2 at home.

Meanwhile, the Rockets started the season on fire, but have lost three of their last five. However, in their latest outing they were able to overcome a 45-point night from Carmelo Anthony and take down the Knicks by 109-106 on Thursday. James Harden led the team with 36 points on nine of 17 shooting, including 16 of 18 from the free throw line, while Jeremy Lin added 21 points off the bench. However, against a Knicks team playing without Tyson Chandler, Dwight Howard had just seven points on one of five shooting with five turnovers which was a real disappointment.
In ATS trends, the Nuggets are 5-13 ATS int heir last 18 games overall and 2-8 ATS in their last 10 games against a team with a winning record, while the Rockets are 1-4-1 ATS in their last six home games and 1-4 ATS in their last five games overall.
Head to head, the Nuggets are 7-0 ATS in the last seven meetings overall and 4-0 ATS in the last four meetings in Houston.
With the pace that these two teams play at, this is sure to be an entertaining game with plenty of points but I'm actually giving the edge to the Nuggets here. I'm not saying that they will snag the victory here, but they're definitely on a roll and have fared well against the Rockets in the past, so taking them with the points looks like the right play tonight.
