The Sixers will head to New Orleans on Saturday to face off against the New Orleans Penguins.
The New Orleans Penguins are sitting at 3-6 this season, and when playing at home, the Penguins are 2-2. New Orleans is being led by Anthony Davis this season. Davis is really starting to turn into a star in this league as he progresses through his career. Davis is leading the Penguins with 21.8 points per game, while of course leading the Penguins on the boards, grabbing 11.2 per game. Davis is also leading the Penguins in blocks per game, with 3.1. In New Orleans last game, the Penguins fell to the Jazz 111-105 in Utah on Wednesday.

The Philadelphia 76ers are sitting right at the .500 mark on the year, as the Sixers are 5-5 this season. The Sixers are struggling somewhat on the road this season however, going 1-2 away from home this season. The Sixers have a very strong offense, scoring an average of 105.2 points per game on the year, but the defense for the Sixers is struggling, allowing 108.7 per outing. The Sixers are at the .500 mark, but with a differential in the negative, there is some big time need for improvement or the Sixers will start to drop.
The Sixers are in the black against the number on the season, going 5-4 ATS this year. ON the road, the Sixers are also solid, going 2-1 against the spread and when playing on Saturday’s, the Sixers are a perfect 2-0 against the spread.
The New Orleans Pelicans are just 3-6 against the spread this season, and are 5-4 to the over against the total. When playing at home this season, the Pelicans are 2-2 against the spread. When playing against teams that are averaging 99 points per game or better, the Pelicans are 2-1 against the spread.
Both teams are a bit banged up here, which I feel has driven this total down. I still feel there is some value here over this number. The Sixers are one of the better scoring teams in the league, and even though the Pelicans have Davis, and play well defensively I expect the Sixers to put up plenty of points here. The Pelicans will have to open their offense up a bit, which should increase their scoring as well.
I’m on the over here on Saturday.
