The Sacramento Kings hope to turn things around with a visit from the Phoenix Suns on Tuesday night.
Head to head, the Suns are 5-2 ATS in their last 7 meetings while the favorite is 5-1 ATS in the last 6 meetings. The Kings are 7-2 ATS in their last 9 home game following a SU loss or more than 10 points, but just 1-6 ATS in their last 7 home games and 1-7-1 ATS in their last 9 games overall. The Suns on the other hand are 4-0 in their last 4 road games, 7-0-1 ATS in their last 8 vs. Western Conference and 7-1-1 ATS in their last 9 games overall.

What am I missing here? What exactly have the Sacramento Kings done this season to be favored against a 5-4 Phoenix Suns team? I realise the Kings are at home, a place where they have lost five of their seven games this season, that’s the only thing I could think of. Not only that, but Sacramento is 1-7-1 against the spread so far this season, compared to the Suns who are 7-1-1, which is the best mark in the entire NBA.
You really have to love what this young Suns squad has done so far this season. No one, including me, gave them any chance before the season started but they have been one of the most surprising team in the first month of action. While they have only played the four road games thus far and lost three of them, those losses have been by a combined 10 points to three likely playoff teams in Oklahoma City, San Antonio and Portland. Truth be told, they probably should of won those games against the Spurs and Trail Blazers but just came up short in the final seconds.
Meanwhile, the Kings have played all but two of their games at home this season and still can’t manage to string any wins together. Five of their seven losses have been by nine points or greater, which just illustrates how bad they have been. Don’t get me wrong, this team is finally heading in the right direction for the first time in ages, but as of today, this is one of the five worst teams in the NBA.
If you took the names away from both teams and just called them team ‘A’ and team ‘B’ and looked at all the stats and results this season, you would swear Phoenix should be favored by at least three points in this one.
I wouldn’t make this a big play, simply cause of the fact that Sacramento is going to be desperate for a win and they can’t keep losing at home forever, a place where they are usually quite tough to beat. Still, the Suns are the way to go if you ask me...
