The Detroit Pistons head to Atlanta on Wednesday to face the Hawks.
The Atlanta Hawks are in the black this season as the Hawks are sitting at 6-5, while playing really well at home, going 3-1 overall. The Hawks are playing well on both ends of the court right now, as Atlanta is scoring an average of 103.2 points per game this season, while allowing just 100.6. The Hawks come into this meeting with the Pistons having won two out of their last three, defeating the Sixers and the Knicks, before falling to the Heat in Miami last time out on Tuesday night.

The Detroit Pistons have the opposite record of their opponent here, as the Pistons are 4-6 on the year. Detroit is also struggling on the road this season, going just 1-4 on the season. I know I’ve said it here before, but when I think Pistons I think defense, and this team just doesn’t have it. Detroit is allowing 102 points per outing on the year, ranking them 21st in the nation in scoring defense. The offense isn’t much better for Detroit either, scoring an average of 99.5 points per game. Like the Hawks though, the Pistons have done fair as of late, going 2-1 in their last three outings, with their most recent game being on Tuesday, when the Pistons beat the Knicks at home, 92-86.
The Detroit Pistons are 5-5 against the spread this season, and when on the road, the Pistons are 2-3 against the number. When the Pistons are playing against a team with a winning record this season, Detroit is 0-4 against the spread.
The Atlanta Hawks are 7-4 against the spread this season, and when playing at home, the Hawks have been real solid against the line, going 3-1. The Hawks are also playing well on back to back days, going 1-0 against the spread this year, while the Pistons are 0-1 this season on back to back games.
I’m going to lay the points with the Hawks here. The Pistons might have a slight advantage offensively in the paint, but the Hawks are shooting the ball extremely well right now, and I also think we will see Atlanta with the advantage on the boards here. The Pistons are better than their record states, but this is just a tough game in a tough place to play for Detroit.
