The New York Knicks return home to face Paul George and the Indiana Pacers on Wednesday night from Madison Square Garden.
Head to head, the Pacers are 1-5 ATS in the last 6 meetings in New York while the favorite is 5-0 ATS in the last 5 meetings and the home team is 5-0 ATS in the last 5 meetings.
Boy do the New York Knicks suck at home this season. For whatever season, the Knicks just can't seem to get anything going at Madison Square Garden in the early going, losing their last five games after starting the season with a win over the Milwaukee Bucks. New York, who are coming off a 110-90 loss to the Atlanta Hawks in their last home outing, have now suffered two blowout defeats in their last three games in New York, which is an alarming figure.
The Indiana Pacers are also coming into tonight's showdown off a loss, but it was only their first of the season as they fell to the Chicago Bulls 110-94 on Saturday night. Indiana has picked up right where they left off last season as they won their first nine games of the season before succumbing to the Chicago Bulls, a team they just defeated at home 97-80 some two weeks earlier. The Pacers have gotten off to their quick start because of their league-leading defense, holding foes to just 86.3 points per game on 39.8 percent shooting.
If your looking at totals, then the under has to be in consideration here. Unders have gone 8-2 in the Pacers 10 games thus far, which makes sense given their defensive numbers. I shutter to think what Indiana is going to do to a Knicks team that has failed to score over 95 points in four of their last five outings. Unders are also 11-2 in Pacers last 13 overall.
It's a very square pick, but I just can't back New York and be confident about it given what they have done at home this season. They are bound to turn things around soon, but I just don't see it, especially against an Indiana squad that has had three days to prepare and is coming off their first loss of the season...
Dan’s Pick: Indiana -5.5
