Kevin Durant the Oklahoma City Thunder welcomes Chris Paul and the Los Angeles Clippers to town on Thursday night.
Head to head, the Clippers are 12-5 ATS in the last 16 meetings in Oklahoma City. The Thunder are 1-8 ATS in their last 9 home games, 0-9 ATS in their last 9 games vs. a team with a wining % above .600 and 4-11 ATS in their last 15 games overall. The Clippers on the other hand are 6-1 ATS in their last 7 games vs. a team with a winning % above .600, 8-3 ATS in their last 11 games playing on 0 days rest and 4-1 ATS in their last 5 road games.

While the Oklahoma City Thunder are a perfect 4-0 at home this season, they have only covered in one of those games and one of their last nine dating back to last season. If you go back and look at their results, they were pretty lucky to come away with wins over Phoenix, Denver and Washington, whom they needed overtime to defeat. On the flipside, the Clippers are coming off an impressive win in Minnesota last night and they are 8-3 against the spread when playing on zero days rest. Los Angeles is only 3-3 on the road this season, but they are 4-2 ATS in those games, which includes an impressive 107-94 win in Houston a couple of weeks ago. I would take the points in this one for the aforementioned reasons, but I think there is more value in the total.
Since Russell Westbrook has been back in the line-up, the Thunder have just been on a tear offensively, averaging 107.5 points over their last eight games. As a result of this, the over has gone 7-3 in their 10 games thus far this season, compared to 8-4 for the Clippers. Speaking of Los Angles, they come into tonight’s showdown as the leagues-leading offense, pouring in 108.7 points per contest. As far as recent meetings go, the over is 4-0 in their last four meetings and 4-0 in their last four meetings Oklahoma City.
Given the fact that we have two of the leagues top offenses going head-to-head in this one, I just don’t see a scenario where this is a low scoring game. Of course, there is always the chance that one or both teams could have an off shooting night, but past meetings and recent history would suggest this is a rarity more than anything else. The over is also a combined 9-2 in their last 11 contests and I think that goes to 10-2 after tonight’s results..
