The Portland Trailblazers can make it nine straight wins tonight if they can overcome the Chicago Bulls at home.
With a 10-2 record and eight straight wins, the Blazers have quietly been one of the best teams through the first three weeks of the season. On Wednesday against the Bucks, LaMarcus Aldridge led the team with 21 points, while Damian Lillard added 19 points as the Blazers won by 91-82 despite shooting just 40.7 percent from the field as a team. They won with defense, holding the struggling Bucks to just 13 points in the third quarter and 31 points in the entire second half after allowing them to shoot 50 percent over the first half.

Meanwhile, the Bulls were looking for their fifth straight win on Thursday until they ran into the in-form Nuggets who beat them by 97-87. Derrick Rose led the team with 19 points, while Carlos Boozer and Mike Dunleavy added 15 points apiece, but Luol Deng shot a miserable three of 18 from the field to finish with just six points. To make matters worse, the Bulls' bench were outscored by the Nuggets' reserves by 49-21 which really explains why the Bulls scored just 14 points in the third quarter and just 39 in the entire secnod half.
In ATS trends, the Bulls are 7-3 ATS in their last 10 games playing on no rest and 1-4 ATS in their last five road games, while the Blazers are 4-0 ATS in their last four games following a win but just 3-10 ATS in their last 13 home games.
Head to head, the Bulls are 0-4 ATS in the last four meetings overall and 0-4 ATS in the last four meetings in Portland.
The Bulls always seem to lift when playing against teams on winning streaks so tonight is definitely going to be tough for the Blazers. However, I really like the way they've been playing and they seem to be catching the Bulls at the right time. Playing on the road for a second consecutive night is always tough and I think that gives the Blazers the edge in this one.
