The Houston Rockets and their high powered offense head to Memphis on Monday to meet the Grizzlies.
The Memphis Grizzlies are just barely in the black right now, as the Grizzlies are sitting at 7-6 on the year. Memphis is also right at the .500 mark on their home court, going 3-3 this season. The Grizzlies head into their meeting with the Rockets on Monday having won four out of their last five, with their only loss in that stretch coming against the Spurs in their last outing on Friday. The Grizzlies fell to the Spurs 102-86 in Memphis, despite a strong effort from Conley, who finished with 28 points on the night.

The Houston Rockets are currently 9-5 on the year, and on the road, the Rockets are 3-3 overall. Houston has their number one ranked offense to thank for those nine wins as the Rockets are scoring an average of 109.9 points per game. Houston, like Memphis is playing well right now, as the Rockets are also winners of four out of their last five. The Rockets earned a win last time out, defeating the Minnesota Timberwolves in Houston on Saturday, and 112-101. The Rockets don’t have much in the way of defense, but if Houston keeps putting up points like they are, they will be a tough out this season.
The Houston Rockets are 7-6 against the spread on the year, and when the Rockets are listed as a favorite, the Rockets are 6-4 against the number. Houston, thanks in large part to their offense and lack of defense, are 9-5 in favor of the over this season as well. When the Rockets are up against a team with a winning record, Houston is 3-2 ATS on the year.
The Memphis Grizzlies are just 4-8 against the spread this season, and the Grizzlies are just 2-4 against the spread as the underdog. Memphis is also just 1-5 against the spread on the year when playing at home. When the Grizzlies are going up against teams averaging 99+ points per game, the Rockets are 3-1 ATS on the year so far.
I’m going to have to take the over here. I am tempted to take the Grizzlies as I was burnt by Memphis when they played against the Warriors on the road awhile back, and I see a similar situation here, only on their home court.
The best value here looks to be on the over however. The Rockets are going to come out firing as Houston knows the Grizzlies don’t have a ton of firepower, which should force Memphis to open it up a bit. Both the Grizzlies and the Rockets should have some fresh legs, so look for a fast paced game here, which should equal a lot of points.
