Who in their right mind is going to take the Charlotte Bobcats in this one? That’s not to say they can’t and won’t cover, but they have been better on the road than they have at home this season. The Bobcats have lost five of their last six games at home by an average of 10.4 points, with the only win in that period coming over the slumping Brooklyn Nets. What’s more concerning, Charlotte had great opportunities to secure recent wins over Phoenix and Boston, two games they were both favored by 3.5 points, yet, they couldn’t get the job done on their home court.
What more can you say about this Indiana Pacers squad? Tied with San Antonio for the best record in the league at 13-1, Indiana has all the makings of an NBA championship team and I think they were serious when they recently said they wanted to finish the regular season with the leagues best record. Like the Spurs, you can’t really fault anything the Pacers have done to start the season and while there offense could stand to improve, it doesn’t really need to when their defense is that good.
Like I said earlier, it’s Indiana or nothing in this one. Not only are the Pacers 5-1 on the road this season, but they are also 5-1 against the spread in those games as well. Another stat that really jumped out at me was the fact that the Pacers have covered in 11 of their last 13 road games against a team with a losing home record. Meanwhile, the Bobcats are only 1-4 ATS in their last five home games against really good teams, which is what Indiana are....
