The Line: Houston Rockets -8 -- Over/Under: 210.5 See the Latest Odds
The Atlanta Hawks head to Houston on Wednesday to face the Houston Rockets and their high powered offense.
The Houston Rockets are 10-5 this season, thanks in large part to their number one scoring offense. The Rockets are scoring an average of 108.7 points per game this season. Houston is also one of the best rebounding teams in the league, as the Rockets are grabbing an average of 46.5 boards per game. The Houston defense isn’t as solid, allowing 104.3 per game, but if the Rockets can keep up this offensive onslaught, Houston will be a tough out for anyone this season. The Rockets come into Wednesday having won five out of their last six, with their last win coming against the Grizzlies on Monday in Memphis.

The Atlanta Hawks are sitting at 8-7 this season, going 4-4 on the road overall. The Hawks, like the Rockets have a solid offense, but the Hawks are much stronger on the defensive end of the court, holding opponents to 98.2 points per outing. Atlanta is just 2-2 in their last four games heading into Wednesday’s meeting with the Rockets. Atlanta’s last outing was against the Magic on Tuesday, where the Hawks fell to Orlando 109-92. The Hawks big man Al Horford led the way on Wednesday against the Magic, scoring 15 points on the night.
The Atlanta Hawks are 9-5 against the spread this season, and when the Hawks are playing on the road, Atlanta is 5-3 against the number on the year. The Hawks are 2-2 against the spread in non-conference games, and when Atlanta is going up against a team with a winning record, the Hawks are 2-1 ATS this season.
The Houston Rockets are 8-6 against the spread, and when the Rockets are at home, Houston is 4-3 ATS. When the Houston Rockets are playing a team that has a winning record, the Rockets are 4-2 against the spread this season.
I’m going to have to take the Rockets in this spot. The Hawks are coming off a tough game against the Magic on Tuesday, and now have to travel to Houston to face the Rockets and their high powered offense. Atlanta can do some nice things, but I just don’t see them having the legs to slow down Houston.
