Instead of doing the same old boring write up, I’m going to make a case for both teams as to why they can cover the spread in this game, then give my conclusion at the end.
Charlotte: In case you missed it, the Bobcats recently travelled to Milwaukee and came away with a lazy 24 point victory. To put that into perspective, Charlotte’s pervious six wins before that came by a combined 29 points and I honestly can’t remember the time when the Bobcats beat someone by more than 15 points, it’s been that long. Nevertheless, the Cats dominated from start to finish as they had their way down low, outscoring the home team 48-28 in the paint. On the season, Charlotte is just two games below .500 and as bad as the Eastern Conference is this season, they could still be in the playoff picture in a couple of months.
Milwaukee: It’s tough to make a case for a team that is riding a 10-game losing streak, but they have to snap that streak sometime, so why not tonight? Two of the Bucks last four losses have come in overtime, so they haven’t been that far off the mark recently. But the biggest reason to like them tonight is the fact that the Bobcats are just really bad at home, as they have lost six of their last seven at Time Warner Cable Arena, straight up and against the spread. They even have recent losses against Boston and Phoenix by a combined 17 points, despite being 3.5 favorites in both contests.
This game is going to suck, there’s no two ways about it. I’m a Charlotte fan, well I will be totally onboard next season when they change back to the Hornets, and not even I can stand watching this team play in a near empty arena with no atmosphere. I know Milwaukee just got pounded in Charlotte, but I can’t look past how bad the Bobcats have been at home lately. I’m going no where near this game, but I’ll take my chances with the points in this one...
