The Houston Rockets head to Utah on Monday to face off against the struggling Utah Jazz.
The Utah Jazz are just 3-15 on the year heading into their meeting with the Rockets on Monday, but perhaps this team can find some motivation after a solid 112-104 win over the Suns on Saturday in Phoenix. The Jazz have had little to get excited about this season for sure, but Utah finally put together a strong showing, as all five starters, and seven total reached double digit points on the night, as well as all five starters finished in the positive in the +/- category. Lading the Jazz against the Suns was Burke, who finished the night with 20 points and three assists with six boards.

The Houston Rockets are an impressive 13-5 overall this season, and currently the Rockets trail the Spurs by just 1.5 games in the Southwest. The Rockets head into their meeting with the Jazz winners of five straight, with their latest victory coming at the hands of the Spurs, in San Antonio on Saturday, 112-106. The Rockets are mowing through people right now, as three of the five wins in their current stretch have been by double digits. Houston’s offense is ranked number one in the league currently in points per game, and if this continues for Houston, the Rockets will be a tough out come playoff time.
The Houston Rockets are 11-6 against the spread on the year, and when the Rockets are the favorite, Houston is 8-4 against the number. The Rockets are also in the black on the road, where Houston is 5-3 ATS this season. When Houston is facing a team with a losing record, Houston is 4-2 ATS this season.
The Jazz are 8-9 against the spread on the year, going 4-4 ATS at home. The Jazz are also playing well against the Southwest, going 4-1 against the division this season.
I’m going to go with the Jazz in this spot. Houston has been on a tear lately, but I feel this is a bad situation for the Rockets. Houston is coming off a huge road win on Saturday against the Spurs, and now they travel to Utah to face the lowly Jazz. Meanwhile the Jazz are coming off a solid road win as well, and may have the confidence to not only get the cover, but perhaps the outright win here against the Rockets on their home floor.
