The Detroit Pistons head to Milwaukee on Wednesday to square off against the Bucks.
The Milwaukee Bucks have definitely had a rough go of it this season, as the Bucks are just 3-14 on the year. Milwaukee is also just 2-6 overall on their home court this season. The Bucks have dropped four out of their last five heading into Wednesday’s meeting with the Pistons, with their last outing resulting in a loss to the Celtics in Boston, 108-100 on Tuesday night. The Bucks spread the ball around, as four different players reached double digits, but Milwaukee’s defense was nowhere to be found as all five starters for the Celtics reached double digits on the night, with Crawford leading the way for Boston with 25.

The Detroit Pistons are a decent 8-10 this season, while going 3-5 on the road this season. Detroit has won three out of their last five, and heading into their meeting with the Bucks Wednesday, the Pistons have won two in a row. The latest win for the Pistons came on Tuesday, when Detroit upset the Miami Heat in Miami, 107-97. Wade sat out for the Heat, which may have something to do with the win for Detroit, but nonetheless, the Pistons had six different players reach double digit points on the night, with Singler leading the charge with 19.
The Detroit Pistons are 8-9 against the spread this season, while going 5-4 against the number as a favorite. Detroit is playing well against lesser completion this year, as the Pistons are 7-2 against the spread when Detroit is facing a team with a losing record.
The Milwaukee Bucks are 5-11 against the spread on the year, and as an underdog, the Bucks are 5-10 against the spread this season. The Bucks are also just 1-7 against the spread this season when facing a team allowing 99+ points per game.
It may look like the obvious play, but I have to take the Pistons in this spot. My power rankings have about a 3.2 favorite for the home team so far this season, and with this number the odds makers are saying that the Pistons are essentially a three point favorite over the Bucks on a neutral court. I just don’t see that being the case. Detroit matches up well with the Bucks this season, and the Pistons are showing us that their game travels well.
The Bucks will likely keep things close for awhile, but look for Detroit to pull away late, likely winning by near double digits here.
