The Washington Wizards look continue their good form against the slumping Milwaukee Bucks on Friday night.
Head to head, the Bucks are 1-4 ATS in the last 5 meetings and 14-6 ATS in the last 20 meetings in Washington while the road team is 5-2 ATS in the last 7 meetings. The Wizards are 5-0 ATS in their last 5 games vs. a team with a losing S.U. record and 4-1 ATS in their last 5 home games, but just 12-27 ATS in their last 39 games following a SU win of more than 10 points. The Bucks on the other hand are 0-5 ATS in their last 5 road games, 1-9 ATS in their last 10 games following a S.U. loss and 19-42 ATS in their last 61 games overall.
While the Eastern Conference as a whole is really bad, at least teams like the Detroit Pistons and Washington Wizards are starting live up to their preseason hype. Following consecutive home wins over Atlanta and Orlando, the Wizards now won five of six and seven of nine after getting off to another slow to the season. With Bradley Beal sidelined, John Wall has stepped up big time in his abensce scoring over 25 points in four of his last six and he is also dishing it off, coming of 12 and 13 assist games, respectivly.
Needless to say, I'm slightly worried about my Milwaukee pick for them to win over 28.5 games this season. The Bucks come into tonight's contest having won just three games in their first 15 starts as injuries have been a key factor to their torrid start. Half of the Milwaukee squad has missed some time through injury already this season and with a host of new players coming on board in the summer, they just haven't been able to get anything going in the early stages. Offense and rebounding have been their main issues thus far as they are putting up just 90.3 points and pulling down 39.7 rebounds per game, which both rank 29th in the league.
I want to take the Bucks in this one, mainly cause I don't really trust the Wizards as double-digit favorites just yet. But when you look at Milwaukee's road games this season and the fact that they are still shuffiling players in and out of the lineup, Washington look like the safer bet and they have gone 5-3 against the spread at home this season, compared to the Bucks who has gone 3-5 ATS on the road. Like I said, I'm not keen on the idea of the Wizards being double-digit home favorites, but Milwaukee is really bad at the moment...
