NBA Daily Updates 12/7: Knicks Get Another Win, Lakers Take Kings, Tonight's TV Schedule and More
December 7, 2013
The NBA’s busy weekend schedule continues today, with nine games on the slate in the coming hours. We’re coming off a 10-game evening last night, so there’s plenty for basketball fans to talk about. With that in mind, let’s take a closer look at some of the players and storylines making waves this morning. Here’s the latest.
Carmelo Anthony, SF, New York Knicks: It looks like the Knicks have themselves a winning streak going. They tallied their second straight victory last night against the Magic, holding Orlando to just 29 second-half points on the way to a 121-83 win. Anthony led the way for New York, putting up his third straight double-double with 20 points and 11 rebounds.
The Knicks will get a chance to gain some major ground on the Celtics when they come to visit tomorrow. After that it’s a trip to Cleveland on December 10.

Dwight Howard, C, Houston Rockets: Howard dominated the boards last night during the Rockets’ 105-83 victory over the warriors. He posted 18 rebounds to go along with 22 points and three steals for his third double-double in the last four games. Howard has 36 rebounds in his last two outings.
Let’s take a look at Houston’s upcoming schedule. They’ll host the Magic tomorrow before hitting the road for a three-game trip that begins in Portland on December 12.
Kevin Durant, SF, Oklahoma City Thunder: The Thunder were able to bounce back from a loss on Wednesday to get a victory over the Pelicans last night. Durant did his part, posting 29 points and eight rebounds in the 109-95 win. He’s scored at least 24 in nine of his last 10 outings.
Up next for the 14-4 Thunder is a home game against the Pacers tomorrow night. After that, they have a two-game trip that begins in Atlanta on December 10.
Pau Gasol, PF, Los Angeles Lakers: Gasol bounced back from a statistically minimal game against the Trail Blazers to post some nice numbers yesterday. He put up 19 points and seven rebounds in the Lakers’ 106-100 win over Sacramento, buoyed by a 25-13 fourth quarter. Gasol has now posted double-digits in scoring over nine of his last 10 outings.
The Lakers currently sit at 10-9 and will be heading home for their next two games. One is Sunday against the Raptors, the other is Tuesday against the Suns.
NBA Daily Schedule: 18 teams will be in action today, so there won’t be any shortage of hardwood action to keep basketball fans satiated. Here’s a look at the complete schedule, along with the start times and TV networks carrying the games.
