Having played a large portion of their recent schedule on the road, the Golden State Warriors come into tonight’s game in their worst form of the season, having dropped seven of their past 11 matches to sink to 12-10 overall. Most of their problems are coming on the defensive end as Golden State is allowing opponents to score 100 points or greater like it’s going out of fashion. Since allowing opponents to reach 100 points three times during its 8-3 start, the Warriors have let teams score at least that many nine times in the past 11 games.
Meanwhile, the Dallas Mavericks had their three-game winning streak snapped at the hands of the Sacramento Kings on Monday night, falling 112-97. The Mavs have struggled away from home for most of the season, dropping seven of their 11 games to date. Having said that, they had just won back-to-back games in New Orleans and Portland before their loss in Sacramento on Monday.
Golden State is never an easy place to play, but the Warriors have looked vulnerable there over the last couple of games, dropping two of three. In fact, they were lucky not to have los three straight as they needed a massive fourth quarter comeback to take down the lowly Toronto Raptors. On the flipside, the Mavs might not have the best road record through the first month of play, but they are still covering the spread as they have gone 26-11 ATS in their last 36 road games.
I feel pretty comfortable getting six points with the Mavericks here tonight. While I expect a good performance from Golden State after their recent slump in form, Dallas is also coming off a pretty bad loss and they just showed they can win in a hostile environment with their victory in Portland....
