The Detroit Pistons head to the Big Easy on Wednesday to face off against the New Orleans Pelicans.
The New Orleans Pelicans are currently 9-10 on the year, while going an even 5-5 on their home court. The Pelicans have an excellent offensive attack this season, averaging 103 points per game, but the defense is struggling, which is surprising considering how solid the Pelicans are in the middle, and on the boards. New Orleans have won three out of their last five heading into Wednesday’s meeting with the Pistons. In their last outing, New Orleans fell to the Thunder on Friday, 109-95 in New Orleans.

The Detroit Pistons head to New Orleans on Wednesday with a record of 10-12 on the year. The Pistons offense started off the season really strong, but since the Pistons have dropped back somewhat, and now are ranked 17th in the league in scoring offense, putting up an average of 99.1 points per game. The Pistons are playing pretty well on the road this season, going 5-5 overall away from home. Detroit has dropped their last two games heading into Wednesday’s meeting with the Pelicans, but Detroit is still 3-2 overall out of their last five. Detroit’s last loss came on Tuesday against the Timberwolves in Detroit.
The Detroit Pistons are 11-10 against the spread this season, and when the Pistons are on the road, Detroit is 6-4 against the number.
The New Orleans Pelicans are 7-12 against the spread this season, while going just 3-7 against the spread this year at home. Also, when the Pelicans are up against a team with a losing record, New Orleans is just 3-5 against the spread this season.
I'm taking the Pelicans in this spot. Both the Pistons and the Pelicans are playing well better right now, but I like this Pelicans team at home. New Orleans can run the floor with the Pistons and should give this Detroit defense some fits.
