The Houston Rockets pay a visit to the Portland Trail Blazers at the Moda Center on Sunday night.

The Houston Rockets have been in dreadful form as they’ve lost 10 of their last 12 games overall and they will be hoping to arrest an eight-game slide after getting routed by the Warriors in a 116-101 road loss on Friday. Kenyon Martin Jr. led the team with 22 points, eight rebounds and two blocks, Tyty Washington Jr. added 15 points while Jae’Sean Tate chipped in with 14 points. As a team, the Rockets shot just 39 percent from the field and 11 of 35 from the 3-point line as they allowed the Warriors to pour in 40 points in the second quarter to fall behind early and they couldn’t recover with the Warriors’ Klay Thompson torching them for 12 3-pointers for the game.

Meanwhile, the Portland Trail Blazers have been in poor form as they’ve lost five of their last seven games overall and they will be hoping to avoid a third straight defeat after getting thrashed by the Kings in a 133-116 road win on Thursday. Nassir Little led the team with 26 points on 10 of 19 shooting, Cam Reddish added 24 points while Keon Johnson and Trendon Watford scored 16 and 15 points respectively. As a team, the Trail Blazers shot 46 percent from the field and 16 of 38 from the 3-point line as they stormed out of the gates with 37 points in the first quarter, but they couldn’t maintain that pace and were always fighting a losing battle after getting outscored by 37-20 in the second quarter.

Looking at the betting trends, the Rockets are 3-10 ATS in their last 13 games against a team with a losing record, 8-20 ATS in their last 28 road games and 7-19 ATS in their last 26 games overall. The Trail Blazers are 1-5-1 ATS in their last seven home games, 5-0 ATS in their last five games against a team below .400 and 1-5-1 ATS in their last seven games overall.

Head to head, the under is 12-5 in the last 17 meetings overall and the Rockets are 4-1 ATS in the last five meetings in Portland.

The Rockets are again missing Kevin Porter Jr and Jalen Green, while the Trail Blazers are still missing Anfernee Simons and Jusuf Nurkic. The Rockets haven’t been able to build any momentum all season and they are coming into this one on an eight-game losing streak, but the Trail Blazers have really struggled themselves lately and they just allowed the Kings to pour 133 points on them. You couldn’t back either team with much confidence, but the Trail Blazers should be well-rested as they haven’t played since Thursday and I think they can get the much-needed win to get them out of this funk.
