The Wizards head to Atlanta on Friday to square off against the Atlanta Hawks.
The Atlanta Hawks are currently sitting at 11-11 this season, while going 7-4 at home. The Hawks are being led offensively by Al Horford, who is scoring an average of 17 points per game, while also leading the team in rebounds and blocks this season. The Hawks have struggled a bit lately, dropping three out of their last five, including a loss in their last outing on Tuesday, where the Hawks fell to the Thunder 101-92 in OKC.

The Washington Wizards are sitting below the .500 mark currently as the Wizards are 9-11 on the season, while going just 3-7 on the road. The Wizards have a solid defense, allowing just 98.9 points per game, but if Washington plans on getting into the black and making any kind of run this season, the Wizards will need to do better than scoring 98.1 per game. Washington has dropped back to back games heading into Friday’s meeting with the Hawks. The Wizards last outing was a 75-74 loss to the Nuggets on Monday in Washington.
The Washington Wizards are 4-0 against the spread in their last four games following a loss. Washington is however just 1-4 against the spread in their last five games following 3+ days of rest.
The Atlanta Hawks are 5-0 against the spread in their last five games played on Fridays, and the Hawks are 8-2 against the spread in their last ten games following an overall loss. The over is 4-1 in the last five games for Atlanta, and the Hawks are 4-1 to the over in their last five games against a team with a losing record.
Not a ton of value here with either side, but for my free pick I’ll take the over. I’m not seeing any real great angles here, and while I’m not usually a trends player, all the trends in this one are pointing to the over.
Both the Hawks and the Wizards have had plenty of rest heading into this meeting, and with both teams coming off a loss, look for the tempo to be increased here somewhat, which should provide some added scoring. Personally however, I am laying off this one.
