The Milwaukee Bucks hope to avoid their second loss in as many nights when they pay a visit to the Dallas Mavericks tonight.
The Bucks have been struggling all season and are looking to avoid a third straight loss tonight after falling to the Bulls by 91-90 last night. Gary Neal led the team with 17 points and John Henson added 15, but just when the Bucks looked to have the game in the bag, Mike Dunleavy banked in the game winning three pointer with 5.8 seconds left to send the Bucks to 5-18 on the season and 2-10 at home. The Bulls are always a tough team to beat, but the Bucks were playing a Bulls team missing Derrick Rose And Luol Deng, so they really should have won that game, especially at home.

Meanwhile, the Mavericks are an impressive 9-2 at home, but are coming off a couple of road losses after falling the Warriors by 95-93 on Wednesday. Dirk Nowitzki and Monta Ellis shouldered the scoring load with 21 points apiece while Jose Calderon added 18, but when the game was on the line, the Mavs just couldn't stop the Warriors who rallied from an 18-point deficit to win on a clutch pull-up jumper by Stephen Curry who scorched them for 33 points. With the loss, Dallas falls to 13-10 on the season and 4-8 on the road.
In ATS trends, the Bucks are 4-1 ATS in their last five games following a loss and 4-12 ATS in their last 16 games overall, while the Mavs are 23-7 ATS in their last 30 games following a loss and 0-5 ATS in their last five home games.
Head to head, the Bucks are 16-7 ATS in the last 23 meetings overall and 5-2 ATS in the last seven in Dallas.
The Mavs will be rueing their missed chances after letting the Warriors off the hook in their last outing but I doubt they will let the Bucks get that close tonight. Sure, the bookies are laying a bunch of points here, but I really like how the Mavs have been playing at home lately and all season in fact.
Dirk Nowitzki missed the morning shootaround and is expected to miss tonight's game with an illness.
