NBA Daily Updates 12/15: Heat Take Cavs, Kobe Gets a Win, Tonight's TV Schedule and More
December 15, 2013
It’s been a pretty busy weekend in the NBA so far, and it’s going to continue that way today, with another half-dozen games on the schedule. While we’re waiting on those matchups to start, let’s take a look at some of the noteworthy players out there and see what everyone’s been up to.
Kobe Bryant, SG, Los Angeles Lakers: In last night’s game against the Bobcats, Bryant played his heaviest minutes load since returning to the court four games ago. He posted 21 points, seven rebounds and eight assists in 32 minutes of action, resulting in an 88-85 comeback win for the Lakers. Bryant also had seven turnovers, which gives him a total of 25 in his four games so far.
The win halts the 11-12 Lakers’ three-game skid and pulls them even in two games of their current road trip. They’ll be in Atlanta tomorrow and finish things off in Memphis on Tuesday.

LeBron James, SF, Miami Heat: James kept things rolling for the Heat as he welcomed his former team down to Miami last night. He came near a triple-double, posting 25 points, nine rebounds and nine assists. James also added four steals in the 114-107 win. It marked a bounce-back performance after scoring just 17 against the Pacers.
The 17-6 Heat have now won three of four after dropping two in a row early this month. Their five-game home-stand will continue tomorrow as the lowly Jazz come to town.
Carmelo Anthony, SF, New York Knicks: Anthony was on his game once again last night against the Hawks, and this time it resulted in a rare Knicks win. He dropped 35 points on 13-of-22 shooting and added 10 rebounds in the 111-106 victory. That’s four double-doubles in the last six games for Anthony.
The Knicks have won two of their last three and stand at 7-16 on the year. The Wizards will be coming to town tomorrow night.
LaMarcus Aldridge, PF, Portland Trail Blazers: Aldridge has been one of the NBA’s most beastly players so far this year, and he kept it going last night against the Sixers. He managed 20 points and 16 rebounds in the 139-105 win which featured a franchise-record 21 made threes from the Blazers. Aldridge has double-doubles in six of his last seven outings.
The Trail Blazers have won three in a row and currently stand at 20-4. Their four-game road trip continues in Detroit tonight, followed by stops in Cleveland and Minnesota.
NBA Daily Schedule: 12 teams will be out on the court today, which will cap off a pretty active weekend in the NBA. Here’s a look at the full schedule, along with the start times and TV networks carrying the games.
