The Minnesota Timberwolves head to the Garden on Monday to face off against the Celtics.
The Boston Celtics are sitting at 11-14 this season, and after a sluggish start to the year, the Celtics have been playing some decent ball as of late. Boston has the fifth ranked scoring defense in the league currently, holding opponents to an average of 95.7 points per game on the year. The offense isn’t there yet, but if Boston can hang around by playing solid defense, the Celtics could be in the mix come playoff time.

The Minnesota Timberwolves are currently right at the .500 mark this season, as the T-Wolves defeated the Memphis Grizzlies, on the road at Memphis on Sunday 101-93. The Timberwolves have one of the more dynamic offenses in the league currently, averaging 105.7 points per game this year, led by Kevin Love, who is averaging 24.7 per game. The Timberwolves, with their win on Sunday over the Grizzlies have now won three out of their last five heading into their meeting with the Celtics on Monday.
The Timberwolves are 5-2-1 against the spread in their last eight games against the Atlantic division, and Minnesota hasn’t played well off of no rest lately, going 0-4 against the spread in their last four games with no rest. The over is 4-0 in the last four games for the Timberwolves, and the over is 6-1 in the last seven games for Minnesota when playing a team with a losing record.
The Boston Celtics are 5-1 against the spread in their last six games on a Monday, and Boston is 4-1 against the spread in their last five games at home. The favorite is 4-0 against the spread in the last four meetings between Boston and Minnesota.
I’m going to take the points here with Boston. The Timberwolves are the better team, but Minnesota doesn’t traditionally play well off of no rest, and the Celtics are arguably playing their best basketball of the year so far.
