The Sacramento Kings square off against the visiting New Orleans Pelicans in prime time NBA action.
Head to head, the Pelicans are 4-1 ATS in the last 5 meetings and 2-15-1 ATS in the last 18 meetings in Sacramento while the home team is 23-8 ATS in the last 31 meetings and the favorite is 4-0 ATS in the last 4 meetings. The Kings are 2-12 ATS in their last 14 home games vs. a team with a road winning % of less than .400, 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games playing on 1 days rest and 2-5 ATS in their last 7 games overall. The Pelicans on the other hand are 4-0 ATS in their last 4 games vs. a team with a losing S.U. record, but just 2-10-1 ATS in their last 13 vs. Western Conference and 7-18 ATS in their last 25 road games.
Who knows what to expect from the Sacramento Kings tonight? They, along with the Detroit Pistons are the two most unpredictable teams in the NBA at the moment. While the Kings are usually pretty bad on the road all the time, it's at home where they have mixed results and their last two games at Sleepy Train Arena are a great snapshot of their season thus far, and for the last couple of years to be honest. This is a team that fell to the lowly Utah Jazz by an unthinkable 21 points, but then defeated the Houston Rockets 106-91 in their next outing.
The New Orleans Pelicans continue to struggle away from home, having dropped four straight following their 110-107 defeat in Portland on Saturday night. Even though they came really close to knocking off one of the top teams in the league, the Pelicans fell to 4-9 on the road this season and three games under .500 overall. On a positive note, Anthony Davis played in his second game back from injury against the Trail Blazers, finishing with 21 points and nine rebounds in the loss.
Like I said before, you never really know what your going to get from Sacramento on a nightly basis, but I really like the Pellies in this one. Having lost four straight on the road and with Davis playing in his third game back from injury, I just feel like New Orleans is due for a win. The home team has won nine of the last 10 meetings, but that doesn't mean a lot to be honest. Willing to call the Pelicans my strongest play of the night...
