The Denver Nuggets head to the Big Easy on Friday to face off against the Pelicans.
The New Orleans Pelicans are currently sitting just below the .500 mark on the season, as the Pelicans re 12-14 currently. New Orleans is getting it done with offense right now as the Pelicans are averaging 102.8 points per game, ranking New Orleans 11th in the league in scoring offense. The defense for New Orleans has been struggling, and unless New Orleans can get that figured out, the Pelicans, offensive firepower or not, won’t go far in the tournament.

The Denver Nuggets are just above the .500 mark right now as the Nuggets are sitting at 14-13 on the year. Denver may have a winning record, but the Northwest is proving to be tough this season with the emergence of the Trail Blazers, and currently the Nuggets are nine games back of the division leading Portland Trail Blazers. The Nuggets have been known for their offensive prowess the last few seasons, but this year the Nuggets are a much more balanced team, scoring an average of 100.5 points per game, while allowing 100.1 on average.
The Denver Nuggets are 1-4 against the spread in their last five games following an ATS loss, and the Nuggets are 1-4 against the spread in their last four games on the road. Denver is also 0-4 against the spread in their last four games against the Western Conference as a whole.
The New Orleans Pelicans are just 1-4 against the spread in their last five outings against a team with a winning record, and the Pelicans are just 1-5 against the spread in their last six games against the Northwest division. The home team is 6-0 against the spread in their last six games between the Nuggets and the Pelicans.
The under seems to be the popular play here, but I disagree. I look for both of these teams, each of which have solid offenses, to push the ball down the court a bit as each team tries to get back on track.
