The Detroit Pistons look for revenge as they return home to battle the Washington Wizards on Monday night.
Head to head, the Wizards are 1-5 ATS in the last 6 meetings and 2-8 ATS in the last 10 meetings in Detroit while the favorite is 5-1 ATS in the last 6 meetings. The Pistons are 1-5 ATS in their last 6 home games, 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games following a SU loss of more than 10 points and 1-4-1 ATS in their last 6 games overall. The Wizards on the other hand are 10-1 ATS in their last 11 games vs. a team with a losing S.U. record, 5-0 ATS in their last 5 vs. Eastern Conference and 4-1 ATS in their last 5 road games.
I apologize for the shortness of this article, but I'm not feeling well so I'm going to cut straight to the chase.
Here's the deal. These two teams met on Saturday night in Washington and I took them to go over 203 total points. Needless to say, it didn't even come close thanks to Detroit putting up a measly 82 points, which is 18 under their season average. I'll cop the loss on the chin, but what you probably didn't know is that the over had hit in 23 of the Pistons 31 games prior to Saturday night. Not only that, but Detroit had allowed an average of 107.5 points in their previous nine games and averaged 104 themselves. That would explain why the over has dominated for them all season long.
As far as the Washington Wizards are concerned, they have been one of the better offensive teams in the East over the last two weeks, which is right about the time when Bradley Beal and Nene returned to the line-up from injury. The Wiz have averaged 105 points per game over their last five, which is five points more than their season average.
Back at home, I think the Pistons will snap out of their mini offensive funk and I expect THIS ONE to go over....
