It’s been a pretty busy week in the NBA so far, and the action will be continuing tonight. While we’re waiting on the tip-offs, let’s take a closer look at some of the noteworthy names out there who are making headlines. Here’s the latest.

Kyle Lowry, PG, Toronto Raptors: Lowry and the Raptors kicked off the season in style by taking the air out of the Pacers. They emerged victorious 87-78, with Lowry posting 13 points, 14 assists (a season-high), four rebounds, two steals and a block. He now has double-doubles in three of his last four outings.
The Raptors are rolling. They’ve won six of their last seven games to get back to .500 (15-15) on the year. Their three-game road trip starts in DC tomorrow.

Ricky Rubio, PG, Minnesota Timberwolves: Rubio has put up some real duds in the stat columns recently, but yesterday wasn’t one of them. He managed 14 points, eight rebounds and nine assists in the 124-112 win over the Pelicans, just missing a triple-double. Rubio also added three steals and two blocks.
That gives the T-wolves wins in three of their last four. They sit at 16-16 and will be at home against Oklahoma City on Saturday.

The Sixers have won their last two games, but still sit at just 10-21 on the season. Their six-game road trip continues tonight in Sacramento, then finishes up Saturday in Portland.

Blake Griffin, PF, Los Angeles Clippers: Griffin has been going off statistically in recent games. He put up another nice line last night against Charlotte, with 31 points, 12 rebounds and two assists. That gives Griffin a double-double in seven of his last eight games.
