The Dallas Mavericks hope to extend their current win streak to four tonight when they welcome the Los Angeles Clippers to town.
The Clippers were going through a bit of a slump with three losses in their last four games of 2013, but they were able to ring in the new year with some fireworks as they blew out the Bobcats by 112-85. With the game tied at 56-56 at halftime, the game looked to be heading for a tight finish, but the Clippers broke the shackles with solid defense and hot shooting from Jared Dudley who made six threes to compliment Chris Paul's 17 points and 14 assists. However the best player on the night was definitely Blake Griffin who poured in 31 points on 14 of 20 shooting, including a rare three pointer to cap off the night. With the win, LA improves to 22-12 on the season and 14-3 at home.

Meanwhile, the Mavericks are coming off three straight wins, all of which came on the road. On Wednesday, Dirk Nowitzki missed 11 of 14 shots to finish with a season-low nine points, but through 23 points from Monta Ellis and strong team defense, the Mavs were able to run past the Wizards in the fourth quarter to win by 87-78. With the win, Dallas improved to 19-13 on the season and 8-9 on the road where they've won four of their last five.
In ATS trends, the Clippers are 5-1 ATS in their last six road games and 7-3 ATS in their last 10 games overall, while the Mavs are 4-1 ATS in their last five games overall but just 2-7 ATS in their last nine home games.
Head to head, the Clippers are just 3-10 ATS in the last 13 meetings overall and 1-5 ATS in the last six in Dallas.
The Mavs opened as one-point favorites but a lot of traffic has been going in the way of the Clippers which has actually flipped the points spread right around. As it stands, the Clippers are slight favorites and that's where I'm leaning tonight. Sure, the Mavs are coming off three straight wins but they've all been against inferior opponents so I'm not too excited about that. I am excited with how well the Clippers looked on Wednesday though and I'm looking for more of the same here.
