The Utah Jazz look for a third straight win as they take on the Los Angeles Lakers at the Staples Center.
With Trey Burke running the show, the young Jazz are really starting to get comfortable playing with one another and it's really blossomed into regular wins. Utah have won three of their last four and will be looking for a third straight win after making light work of the Bucks, beating them by 96-87 at home thanks to 22 points from Gordon Hayward and 21 points from Derrick Favors. Utah have now won seven of their last 12 to improve to 11-24 overall but they haven't beaten a team currently above .500 since beating the Rockets back on Dec 2.

On the other hand, we have the Lakers who have lost six straight and are coming off a 94-79 loss against the lowly Bucks. Nick Young and Pau Gasol led the team with 25 points apiece, but the Lakers were always playing catchup as they scored just 12 points in the first quarter while shooting just 35 percent from the field as a team. To make matters worse, Jordan Farmar played 21 minutes in his fourth game since returning from a torn hamstring but he reaggravated that injury and is expected to miss the next month which means Kendall Marshall will probably become the starting point guard by default.
In ATS trends, the Jazz are 5-2 ATS in their last seven games playing on no rest and 1-3-1 ATS in their last five games against a team with a losing record, while the Lakers are 9-4-1 ATS in their last 14 games against a team with a losing record and 2-5 ATS in their last seven home games.
The Lakers have been absolutely depleted with injuries and to make matters worse, the trade rumours about Gasol seem to be getting louder so it's definitely tough to be a Lakers fan at the moment. On the other hand, the future is bright for the Jazz and I actually think they could cause the slight upset tonight so I'm taking them with the points.
