The Los Angeles Lakers and the Denver Nuggets battle it out at the Staples Center.
The Lakers were able to snap a six-game losing streak on Friday by beating the young Jazz by 110-99. Pau Gasol led the scoring with 23 points, 17 rebounds and eight assists, while Jodie Meeks added 18, but the biggest positive of the night for me was the play of Kendall Marshall who stepped into the starting point guard role and scored 20 points and 15 assists. With the win, LA improved to 14-19 on the season and 8-9 at home. On a side note, Wesley Johnson is listed as questionable for tonight's game because of an illness.

Meanwhile, the Nuggets were able to snap an eight-game losing streak on Friday when they took down the Grizzlies by 111-108. Ty Lawson led the way with 18 points and 12 assists while Kenneth Faried and Timofey Mozgov added 16 points each. It seems like all the player meetings, team meetings and the individual meetings between coach Shaw and the players finally paid off and I wouldn't be surprised if they start a little win streak here. With the win, Denver improves to 15-17 overall and 8-8 at home.
In ATS trends, the Nuggets are 1-8 ATS in their last nine games overall and 0-4 ATS in their last four road games, while the Lakers are 10-4-1 ATS in their last 15 games against a team with a losing record and 1-4 ATS in their last five games following a win.
Head to head, the Nuggets are 4-0 ATS in the last four meetings overall but the home team is 6-1 ATS in the last seven.
The Nuggets can breathe a big sigh of relief after putting a halt to their eight-game skid and I actually think they will bring that momentum to LA tonight. The Lakers didn't look too bad themselves with Marshall running the show but I got to give the edge to the Nuggets in this one.
