NBA Player Updates 1/13: Grizzlies and Spurs Win, Tonight's TV Schedule and More
January 13, 2014
After a pretty light schedule yesterday (three games), the NBA will be kicking back into gear this evening with seven matchups ahead. While we’re getting settled in and waiting on tip-offs, let’s take a closer look at some of the noteworthy names around the league who are making headlines this morning. Here’s the latest.
Jason Thompson, PF, Sacramento Kings: Thompson was on point when it came to rebounding during yesterday’s win over the Cavaliers. He posted 16 boards to go along with eight points on 4-of-11 shooting in the 124-80 blowout, which was his third double-digit rebounding performance in the last seven games. Thompson also registered a pair of blocks and a steal.
The Kings are on a nice three-game win streak that’s brought them to 13-22 on the season so far. Up next, they’ve got a tough six-game road trip ahead, starting tomorrow in Indianapolis.

Mike Conley, PG, Memphis Grizzlies: After reaching the 30-point mark twice in a row, Conley’s points total trailed off a bit yesterday against Atlanta. That said, he was still great in the 108-101 win, putting up 21 points and 13 rebounds. Conley would also come up with four steals, which is the fourth time in the last 10 games he’s caused that many turnovers.
The Grizzlies have won four of their last six games, putting them at 17-19 on the year. They’ll try to inch closer to .500 tomorrow night with a home game against the Oklahoma City Thunder.
Tony Parker, PG, San Antonio Spurs: Parker was a facilitator in last night’s game against Minnesota. He posted 10 assists to go along with his 14 points in the 104-86 win, which was his first double-double of the new year. Surprisingly enough, Parker also notched a pair of blocks in the victory, and he now has three in his last three outings. He had just six blocked shots all last year.
The Spurs have won their last four games and seven of their last eight overall. They currently sit at 29-8 on the season. Up next is a road game in New Orleans tonight.
NBA Daily Schedule: 14 teams will be in action this evening, so there’s no doubt we’ll be seeing at least a few very good matchups. Here’s a look at the complete schedule, along with the start times and TV networks carrying the games.
