The Line: Utah Jazz +4 -- Over/Under: 202 See the Latest Odds
The Denver Nuggets seek their fifth straight victory tonight as they travel to Salt Lake City to face the Jazz.
Head to head, the Nuggets are 5-1 ATS in the last 6 meetings and 5-1 ATS in the last 6 meetings in Utah while the road team is 4-1 ATS in the last 5 meetings. The Jazz are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games following a SU loss of more than 10 points, but just 1-4-1 ATS in their last 6 home games vs. a team with a losing road record and 2-6-1 ATS in their last 9 home games. The Nuggets on the other hand are 9-4 ATS in their last 13 road games vs. a team with a losing home record and 4-0 ATS in their last 4 games overall, but just 1-4 ATS in their last 5 road games.
Whatever the line may end up being for this game, I won't be going against the red hot Denver Nuggets most likely. For those that don't know, Gordon Hayward is questionable with a hip injury, along with a couple of Denver players such as Wilson Chandler and Darrell Arthur, hence why there is no line out for this game yet.
Back to the Denver Nuggets. You could make a case that the Nuggs are the hottest team in the league at the moment. They are currently riding a league-high five-game winning streak (along with the Chicago Bulls), but it's the way they have been winning their games. Since losing eight straight and then defeating the visiting Memphis Grizzlies by three points, Denver has gone on to win their last four games by an average of 23 points as their offense continues to excel despite some injuries to key players. The Nuggets have scored 120 points or more in three of those four wins, which includes a season-high 137 point outburst against the Los Angeles Lakers.
The Utah Jazz are coming off a 113-102 loss to the Cleveland Cavaliers on Friday night, but they have actually won three of five overall and four of five at EnergySolutions Arena. It has helped that Utah has hosted some of the worst teams in the league to start the New Year such as Milwaukee, Charlotte and the Los Angeles (Lakers). Having said that, the did just take down Kevin Durant and the Oklahoma City Thunder recently, thanks to a career-high 37 points from Gordon Hayward.
Love the Nuggets as four point favorites here. They are on fire at the moment and should run away with a comfortable victory in the end..
