I have to admit, I like Dallas getting five points and the over 207 just about the same. So, instead of flipping back and forth between the two and choosing which was is my official pick, I will write two paragraphs on why I like both. I will still pick one the end, but you get the idea.
Dallas +5: The Los Angeles Clippers have actually been really good since losing Chris Paul to injury, winning three of four by an average of 20.6 points. Paul was actually injured the last time these two met at the start of the month and it was LA who cruised to a 119-112 victory, despite playing in Dallas and being without Paul for the majority of the second half. So why do I like the Mavs? For one, their against the spread stats on the road are really strong across the board and they have won five of six away from home straight up, which includes wins in Houston, Chicago and Minnesota. Plus, the Clippers have played a really easy schedule of late, playing at home against the Magic, Celtics and Lakers.
Over 207: In their recent meeting back at the start of the month, defense wasn’t really a factor as the game ended on a lazy 231 total points. You would of thought that the Clippers offense would of take a big hit with Paul going down, but Darren Collison is one of the better backup point guards in the league and they have actually averaged 106.7 points over their last four games and have scored over 210 points in four of their last six overall. Meanwhile, the Mavs have scored 107 points or greater in three straight games and five of their last seven overall.
Dan’s Pick: Over 207
