The Utah Jazz head to Detroit on Friday night to face off against the Detroit Pistons.
The Detroit Pistons are sitting at 16-22 this season, and have really struggled at home this year, going 7-12. The Pistons are a team that has relied almost solely on their offense this season and starting off the season the Pistons offense was one of the tops in the league, but since Detroit has slumped off a bit. Currently, the Pistons are scoring an average of 99.5 points per game, ranking them 17th in the league. The defense has struggled for Detroit all season long, and that continues now as Detroit is allowing 102.6 points per game on the year. Detroit has played well lately however, winning back to back games heading into this meeting with the Jazz.

The Utah Jazz have definitely had an up and down season. The Jazz couldn’t buy a win early on in the year, but now that the Jazz are healthier, Utah is playing some decent ball. Still, because of that slow start for Utah, the Jazz are still in fifth place in the division and have a ton of work to do if they plan on even sniffing the playoffs this season. The Jazz like I said have been playing better as of late, which is evident in their last outing, falling to the Spurs in San Antonio 109-105 on Wednesday, definitely a decent showing.
The Jazz are 1-5-1 against the spread in their last six games following an ATS win, and the Jazz are 0-4 against the spread in their last four games on Friday nights. The Utah Jazz are however 4-1-1 against the spread in their last six games following an outright loss.
The Detroit Pistons are just 1-4 against the spread in their last five home games, and the Pistons are 1-5 against the spread in their last six games on Fridays. Detroit is also 0-5 against the spread in their last five home games against teams with a losing record.
I have to take the Jazz in this spot. Neither one of these teams really gets me too excited about financially backing them, but the Jazz have been playing better as of late, especially on the road which should be good enough to get the cover here on Friday.
