The Sacramento Kings will head to Memphis on Friday to face off against the Grizzlies.
The Memphis Grizzlies are sitting right at the .500 mark this season with a record of 19-19. The Grizzlies also have some work to do in their division, as Memphis is in fourth place in the Southwest, trailing the division leading Spurs by 11.5 games at this point. When I think Grizzlies, I think defense, and that is no different this season. The Grizzlies play very well defensively, holding opponents to an average of 96.8 points per game, ranking Memphis sixth in the league in scoring defense at this point. Memphis just needs to find some offense, and get a little better on the boards if they want to make any kind of noise this season.

The Sacramento Kings are sitting at 14-23 this season, and currently the Kings are in fourth place in the Pacific division, trailing the Clippers by 11.5 games…but hey the Kings fans can at least say they are above the Lakers right now. Sacramento has a solid offensive attack, ranking 13th in the league in scoring offense as of now, putting up an average of 102 points per game. The issue is with their defense. The Kings just can’t stop anyone right now as Sacramento is giving up 104.1 points per game, one of the worst numbers in the league. Cousins has had a tremendous year for the Kings this season, as the Center is leading the team in scoring with an average of 23.4 points per game, while also leading in rebounds, steals and blocks.
The Kings are 4-0 against the spread in their last four games against the West, and the Kings are 4-1 against the spread in their last five games on the road.
The Grizzlies are 4-0 against the spread in their last four home games, and Memphis is 4-1 against the spread in their last five games on Friday nights.
I have to give the slight edge here to the Grizzlies. Memphis is the better team by far, and playing at home against a lesser opponent like the Kings, the Grizzlies will try and take advantage of the situation to get into the black for the year.
