NBA Player Updates 1/17: Nets, Pacers and Thunder Win, Tonight's TV Schedule and More

With just three games on the schedule, there wasn’t much going on in the NBA last night. That said, we’re getting a huge dose of games tonight (12), so basketball fans will have plenty to do this evening. While we’re waiting on tip-offs, let’s take a closer look at some of the noteworthy happenings and players around the league this morning. Here’s the latest.

Joe Johnson, SG, Brooklyn Nets: Johnson must really like playing in London. He posted 29 points in the Nets’ overseas win against the Hawks, adding four rebounds and five assists in the 127-110 victory. Johnson did most of his damage from behind the three-point line, going 6-of-8 in the contest. He has at least 23 in four of his last five outings.
That’s six wins in the last seven games for the Nets, who sit at 16-22 on the season. They’ll face the Knicks at the Garden on Monday to finish off their road trip.

Lance Stephenson, SG, Indiana Pacers: The Pacers put the Knicks in their place last night, destroying New York inside on the way to a 117-89 blowout victory that wasn’t even close after the first quarter. Stephenson was especially electric, providing 28 points, four rebounds and four assists. He was 10-of-17 from the field.
The Pacers continue to churn on and look like the best team in the NBA on a nightly basis. They’re 31-7 and have won their last three. They’ll host the Clippers tomorrow before hitting the road next week for a five-game set.

Kevin Durant, SF, Oklahoma City Thunder: Durant took care of business last night against the Rockets, and he ended up with a nice stat line from the game. He posted 36 points, five rebounds and seven assists in the 104-92 win, but also accounted for seven turnovers. Durant has at least 30 points in his last five straight games.
The Thunder have won two of their last three and sit at 29-10 on the season. That’s it for their two-game road trip; They’ll be back at home for three games starting tonight against Golden State.
