The Dallas Mavericks head to Toronto on Wednesday to face off against the Raptors.
The Toronto Raptors are currently right at the .500 mark this season, but even with that being the case; Toronto is leading their division over the Nets by two games at this point. Brooklyn is playing their best ball of the year right now however, so if Brooklyn wants to keep that edge, they need to keep the pace. The Raptors have currently been struggling as Toronto has dropped two straight, and three out of their last four. Their last outing came against the Bobcats, where the Raptors fell to Charlotte 100-95 on the road on Monday.

The Dallas Mavericks are playing some pretty good ball this season, and are currently in the black, having a record of 25-18 on the season. Too bad for them however, the Mavs are in one of the tougher divisions in the game, and trail the Rockets by three games and the Spurs by eight. Still, this Mavs team has all the makings of a playoff team; I just question how far they could go. Dallas is an even 2-2 in their last four games, earning a win in their last outing, defeating the Cavs in Cleveland 102-97 on Monday.
The Mavs are 6-0 against the spread in their last six games when playing on just one day of rest, and the Mavs are 4-1 against the spread in their last five games overall.
The Toronto Raptors are 4-0 against the spread in their last four games against a team with a winning overall record on the year, and the Raptors are 7-1 against the spread in their last eight games following an outright loss.
I have to back the Raptors in this spot. Toronto has been underappreciated somewhat this year, as many may not realize that the Raptors have the third ranked scoring defense in the league right now. Now I realize this Mavs team has a dynamic offense to counter Toronto, but with little rest, and a long road trip, I just don’t see the Mavs hitting on all cylinders here.
