Kevin Durant and the red hot Oklahoma City Thunder will look to win their eighth straight game when they host the Atlanta Hawks on Monday night. Durant has scored 30 or more points in 10 consecutive games and should have no problem adding to that streak against an Atlanta squad that plays little defense.
The Hawks are a banged up basketball team with Al Horford, Jeff Teague and Pero Antic all banged up one way or another. They’ve still managed to win three of their last four games thanks to Paul Millsap playing like an all-star and Kyle Korver consistently draining the timely three ball. Atlanta somehow continues to find ways to score points at a high clip, but it’s allowing more than 108 points on average in its last five games.

Oklahoma City is looking more and more like NBA finals contenders with the way Durant and company have played over the last month. He’s clearly on pace to win his first MVP of his career and with the help of Serge Ibaka, Reggie Jackson and even Jeremy Lamb at times, this has once again become one of the tougher teams to beat in the league. In the Thunder’s last five games, they’re shooting above 50 percent from the field and allowing only 93.8 points per game defensively.
These two teams squared off back in December and Oklahoma City won 101-92. Keep in mind, that game was in Atlanta and the Hawks still had Horford on the floor. Atlanta is still a team you have to respect, but it’s just too banged up and Oklahoma City is too much in a rhythm for this one to be close.
The Thunder are 13-9 against the spread at home this season and are 7-0 against the spread in their last seven games overall.
It’d be wise for you to continue to ride the hot hand.
