The New Orleans Pelicans hope to have Anthony Davis back on the court when they take on the Chicago Bulls.
The Pelicans had won four of five and were going for a fourth straight win on Wednesday but ran into the Timberwolves and lost by 88-77. Al-Farouq Aminu led the team with 18 points and 12 rebounds while Eric Gordon added 14, but the bottom line is that the already short-handed Pelicans struggled mightily without Anthony Davis who has been dominant on both ends of the floor. The good news is that Davis is expected to suit up for tonight's game against the Bulls which is great news for a team already missing players like Jrue Holiday, Jason Smith and Ryan Anderson.

Meanwhile, the Bulls have won five of their last seven and will be buoyed by their surprising 96-86 win at San Antonio on Wednesday. Jimmy Butler led seven players in double figures with 19 points on seven of 11 shooting while Carlos Boozer had 16 points and 12 rebounds, but the MVP of the night was probably Joakim Noah who fell two assists shy of a triple double. On the defensive end, the Bulls were at their best, holding the Spurs to just 36 points in the first half and forcing 19 turnovers for the game. With the win, Chicago improves to 23-22 overall and 10-12 on the road.
In ATS trends, the Bulls are 4-0 ATS in their last four road games and 4-1 ATS in their last five games against a team with a losing record, while the Pelicans are 5-1 ATS in their last six games following a loss and 7-3 ATS in their last 10 games overall.
Head to head, the Bulls are 5-0 ATS in the last five meetings in New Orleans and the road team is 8-0 ATS in the last eight meetings overall.
Given that Davis was a game-time decision for Wednesday's game, it would be surprising if he sits out again tonight so look for him to play his usual minutes and put up some impressive numbers. However, these Bulls have been playing some solid basketball lately and given how dominant they've been ATS when playing the Pelicans, I have to take them to win and cover here.
