The New Orleans Pelicans battle the Chicago Bulls on Saturday night from the Big Easy.
Head to head, the Bulls are 5-0 ATS in the last 5 meetings in New Orleans the road team is 8-0 ATS in the last 8 meetings. The Pelicans are 5-1 ATS in their last 6 games following a S.U. loss and 7-3 ATS in their last 10 games overall., but just 6-13-2 ATS in their last 21 games vs. a team with a winning S.U. record. The Bulls on the other hand are 5-1 ATS in their last 6 road games vs. a team with a losing home record and 4-0 ATS in their last 4 road games, but just 10-26-1 ATS in their last 37 games playing on 2 days rest.
Although they have been flying under the radar, the Chicago Bulls have been one of the best team in the Eastern Conference so far in the new year. In fact, since just before Christmas, the Bulls have won 14 of a possible 20 games and are coming off probably their best victory of the season on Wednesday night in San Antonio, defeating the Spurs 96-86 as seven players finished the game in double-digit scoring. Chicago has also been lights out away from home during that time, winning and covering the spread in seven of their last eight road games.
The New Orleans Pelicans come into tonight's game off a loss in Minnesota on Wednesday night, however that game had snapped their three-game winning streak. Their game against the Timberwolves was always going to be a tough one given that Anthony Davis had to sit out because of a dislocated left index finger. Given that Ryan Anderson and Jrue Holiday are already out of the lineup with injuries, the Pellies were just too short-handed. Davis is expected back tonight however.
New Orleans has been playing better recently, but I'm not going against a Bulls squad that has won and covered in seven of eight on the road. Not to mention they have had a couple of days to rest since their win in San Antonio on Wednesday. What more can I say, I just Chicago a lot more than I do the Pelicans...
