The road doesn’t get any easier for the Orlando Magic, as they will travel to Indiana to take on the Pacers Monday night. These two teams met in October, and the Pacers won 97-87.
Orlando is coming off a loss to Boston on Super Bowl Sunday. It was the sixth loss in its last eight games, as the team still refuses to play any type of defense whatsoever. The Celtics shot 50 percent from the field and had 24 assists. In the Magic’s last five games, they’re allowing teams to shoot 45.6 percent from the field and 39.8 percent from downtown. The Magic are 2-8 SU in back-to-back games and 5-5 against the spread this season.

Indiana is coming off a close call Saturday against Brooklyn, but it’s also been a little shaky as of late, losing twice to Phoenix and once to Denver. Defensively, the Pacers are allowing 102 points in their last five games, which is far greater than the 90.6 points allowed on the season. Indiana has seem to have lost its edge a little bit, covering only once in its last five contests.
I don’t care about the records or the gap in talent, I simply can’t bring myself to lay such a huge number in an NBA game. Orlando may be tanking for the worst record in the NBA and Indiana may be one of the top teams in the league, but winning by 15-plus points is asking a lot, especially with the way the Pacers have been playing recently.
The Pacers are 5-7 against the spread this season when they are favorites by 11-plus points.
Wait for this line to go as high as possible and then take the points.
