The Dallas Mavericks head to Memphis on Wednesday to face off against the Grizzlies.
The Memphis Grizzlies are currently just 26-21 this season, and while that is a solid record, it’s not what this team was hoping for at this point of the season. The Grizzlies still have that outstanding defense, holding opponents to an average of just 95 points per game this season, but the Grizzlies just can’t put up points consistently, scoring just 95.5 per game. Memphis has been playing better as of late however, as the Grizzlies are winners of six out of their last seven games, with that lone loss coming on Monday against the Thunder, falling 86-77 to OKC on the road.

The Dallas Mavericks are in the black this season, but still the Mavs are in third place in the Southwest division, trailing the Spurs and the Rockets at this point. Dallas is known for their offense, and that is their strong point once again this season, but unless this Dallas team can find some defense to back them up, I just don’t see the Mavs making much noise in the post season. Dallas has played well as of late, winning three out of their last four, including a solid win against the Cavs on Monday, defeating Cleveland 124-107 in Dallas.
The Dallas Mavericks are 8-2 against the spread in their last ten games when playing on just one day of rest, and the Mavs are 1-4 against the spread in their last five games against the Southwest division.
The Grizzlies are 6-0 against the spread in their last six games following an outright loss, and the Grizzlies are 8-1 against the spread in their last nine games when playing a team with a winning record.
I have to back the Grizzlies here. Memphis has been playing very good ball lately and the Mavs are struggling a bit. Dallas and their offense should keep this one close, but it won’t be enough as Memphis is red hot right now.
