The Chicago Bulls continue their west coast road trip with a stop by to play the Golden State Warriors on Thursday night. The Bulls have won three of their last six games, and the Warriors are looking to rebound from an embarrassing loss Tuesday to the Charlotte Bobcats.
Although Chicago is banged up, it’s a team that just does not know how to quit. It still has the second best defense in the NBA that is holding teams to only 92.8 points per game and just held a hot offensive Phoenix squad to 92. But on the flipside, the offense isn’t there as the Bulls are shooting 38.8 percent and scoring 86.4 points in their last five games. Basically, when the defense isn’t playing at an elite level, the Bulls tend to lose in embarrassing fashion.

Golden State has been quite inconsistent the last couple of weeks. Usually one of the best shooting teams in the league, it shot just 31.2 percent and turned the ball over 16 times against the Bobcats. The offense is shooting only 39.5 percent in its last five games and 32.2 percent from downtown. Do the Warriors have the shooters to break out of this slump? Sure, but this is a little concerning, especially going up against one of the better defensive teams in the league.
The Warriors are 8-14-1 against the spread at home, while the Bulls are 12-13 ATS on the road. They’re also not very good against the spread overall, as Golden State is 21-26-2 ATS this season and Chicago is 22-26 ATS.
It’s no secret Golden State is the more talented team and should finally wake up in front of its home fans. But Chicago is no pushover and will find a way to grind this game down to the final minutes and get the cover.
The Warriors simply aren’t as mentally tough as the Bulls, which should lead to a close game.
