The Line: Indiana Pacers -6 -- Over/Under: 198 See the Latest Odds

There’s going to be a good NBA game Friday night when the Portland Trail Blazers take on the Indiana Pacers at the Bankers Life Fieldhouse. These two teams met back in December and Portland won a tight one 106-102.

The Trail Blazers have been a little shaky as of late, losing three of their last five. The reasons for the minor hiccups have been due to an offense that has struggled. Considered the best scoring team in the league with an average of 107.7 points per game, the Trail Blazers are only averaging 91.8 points on 39.4 percent shooting in their last five games. Portland is also averaging just 13.8 bench points in their last five games, putting a ton of pressure on the star players to come through every night.

Although it hasn’t’ been pretty at times, Indiana has won four of its last five games. The Pacers have allowed only one 100-point game in those contests and is averaging close to 50 rebounds per game. It’s safe to say the Pacers have gotten back to their roots of playing elite defense rebounding the basketball, which has helped erase a few uneasy games last week. David West’s 22-point performance against Atlanta was one of his better offensive performances of the season.

The spread on this game is way too low.

Indiana is 23-2 at home straight up and 17-8 against the spread on its home court. Portland is 16-9 SU and 14-11 ATS on the road. The Trail Blazers are really only a dangerous team when they’re scoring above 100 points and getting off a ton of shots. That hasn’t been the case recently and likely won’t happen against the best defense in the league.

The home team is 5-0 against the spread in the last five meetings between these two teams and the Pacers have covered four of their last five games.

Take Indiana and the small chalk.
