The Line: Los Angeles Clippers -5 -- Over/Under: 211 See the Latest Odds
The San Antonio Spurs and Los Angeles Clippers will battle it out for the third and final time during the regular season. They split the previous two meetings.
The Spurs are just hoping that the All-Star break allowed their team to get healthy, as they were barely holding on during their last five games. During their last five contests, they averaged 104.4 points and allowed exactly 104.4 points. They hope to have Tony Parker and Manu Ginobili back for this game. Assuming both can play, this team should start to look a little more recognizable. They are 25-28 ATS overall and 15-12 ATS on the road.
Soobum Im-USA TODAY Sports
The Clippers have won three straight games and have been on a scoring tear. Not only have they shot 51.6 percent from the field in their last five games, but they’ve scored 100-plus points in 11 consecutive games. Blake Griffin has been an absolute monster as of late and this team is starting to look like a real national championship contender. Defensively, the Clippers have allowed 106.4 points on 43 percent shooting in their last five contests. Of course, points allowed doesn’t matter much when they’re averaging 118 points offensively. They are 31-24 ATS and 14-13 ATS at home.
Although the Clippers have been an offensive machine as of late, getting plus five points with the Spurs is a steal if Parker and Ginobili play. They’ve won seven of the last 10 meetings SU and are 11-5 ATS in their last 16 trips to Los Angeles.
Also, the underdog is 6-1 ATS in the last seven meetings between these two teams.
The Spurs have enough offensively to keep up and their defense will be the difference in this ball game. San Antonio could easily win this game SU, getting points on top of that is a bet you can’t turn down.
I’ll gladly take the more balanced club.
