The Denver Nuggets hope a road trip to the Milwaukee Bucks is enough to help them snap their five-game losing streak. These teams faced each other a couple of weeks ago and the Nuggets won 110-100.
It’s tough to figure out exactly what is going on with the Nuggets as of late, but it isn’t pretty. During their losing streak, they’re averaging 95.2 points and allowing 118.2 points. Nope, that is not a misprint. They have refused to play any defense and have allowed 100-plus points in 10 straight games. On the road this season, they average 102.8 points and allow 107.4 points. They are 22-30 ATS overall and 12-14 ATS on the road.

The Bucks continue to be just as awful, but they’re actually coming off a win over the Orlando Magic. Not saying much, but they did knock down 12 threes and got 21 points off the bench from Caron Butler. That offensive production shouldn’t last very long considering they’re shooting just 42.3 percent from the field on the season and averaging 92.5 points. Defensively, they allow 101.8 points. At home, their offensive production drops to 91.3 points. They’ve also been a nightmare against the spread, as they’re 21-32 overall and 10-17 at home.
Looking at the low spread, it would be easy to take Denver and the small chalk. But even though the Bucks are the worst team in the NBA, it’s impossible to trust the Nuggets with the way they’ve been playing defense. It’s anybody’s game at this point.
That’s why I’m going with the over. Both teams give up well over 100 points a game and should have no problem scoring on one another. Also, the over is 10-4 in the last 14 meetings between these two teams and is 8-2 in the last 10 Bucks’ home games against teams with a losing road record.
There’s going to be a lot of points in this one.
